Our Technician Assistants help make the Technician’s job easier by aiding in surgery and dentistry preparations, by holding pets when the technicians draw blood or take x-rays, and by keeping the treatment area clean and ready for the next patients. Kennel Attendants are responsible for the daily care of pets that are boarded here at Rose City, which includes feeding, exercising, and medicating pets in our care.
Originally hired on as a kennel assistant in May of 2009, Beth is cross-trained for many areas of the hospital but is most frequently seen assisting our technicians. She previously worked in the human mental health field, and currently volunteers for the Oregon Humane Society in addition to working at Rose City. Here at the hospital, she takes a special interest in our boarders, OHS adoptable cats, and clinic cats. She pays extra attention to all of them, including performing Burnie’s hot tub bath sessions and taking seasonal photo shoots of our boarders and adoptable pets. She is a proactive advocate for home pet dental care, and her canine companion Dyna Beana is a home dental care demonstration model. Her home has a revolving door for foster critters, and she is almost always helping out a pet in need.
Christa has worked in the veterinary field for over five years, and began with Rose City in August 2009. Prior to coming on board with us, she worked at an emergency hospital caring for wildlife and exotic animals. She loves caring for animals of all kinds, and extremely fond of reptiles and black cats (and is always sure to give them extra love when they visit us!). In addition to helping our technicians, Christa gives extra attention to our boarders during the day and loves working in our in-house laboratory. Her many talents extend to her passions outside of work, and she is actively involved in music and dancing. Although she yearns to own reptiles again sometime soon, she currently shares her home with a single four-legged friend, her black cat Zombie.
