Rose City Veterinary Hospital Image Gallery
Although Rose City Veterinary Hospital may be Portland’s first veterinary hospital, the complete hospital renovation in 2005 has made it the very model of a modern veterinary practice. Sporting a chic urban design featuring Dr. Quirk’s wonderful, whimsical collection of animal art, the practice is one of the most modern veterinary hospitals in Portland as well as the oldest.
The client friendly lobby, with its complementary coffee and freshly baked cookies, is a lot more than window dressing. The hospital offers state-of-the-art surgical and therapeutic lasers, digital radiography and, as needed, ultrasound, endoscopy, full blood analysis and a host of other medical marvels that highlight how far veterinary medicine has evolved since the hospital’s founding in 1911.
SE 8th Ave Entrance
The hospital’s main entrance sits at the head of our parking lot, which is accessible from SE 8th Ave, between SE Powell Blvd and SE Woodward St.
Reception
Our client friendly lobby is stocked with prescription diets, dental care products, treats, handmade toys and of course our helpful Client Care Representatives.

Treatment Area
The center of our treatment area has a cross-haired set of tables, one of which is also a bathtub, for treating patients and performing dental cleanings.

Our in-house laboratory allows for us to get results to certain blood tests rapidly, providing our doctors with the diagnostics necessary to treat your pet.
Surgery Suite
Our surgery preparation area, next to our surgery suite (seen to the left), ensures that all surgeries are performed in a sterile environment.
Radiology Suite
Our radiology suite allows us to take digital x-rays in-house to provide an internal look at patients who may require deeper investigation in order to treat.
Kennel
Our dog boarding runs are set up facing each other, with standard runs on the left, and executive suites - which can be viewed via webcam - on the right.

Within our offices, we also house the Animal Behavior Clinic. Board certified behaviorist Dr. Christopher Pachel sees patients for behavior issues in this room.
